History
I started web designing when I was 11 years old. My first website was created on Kinderlines, a Dutch website for children. After a while I moved to Expage, where I owned a virtual horse sim game (Paardje Maken) and various doll sites.
After messing around there for a couple months, I started to get the hang of HTML and making layouts. I created my first personal website (IcyDreams) on Angelfire, with a layout made in Paint!
At a sudden moment I realized that an English website would attract more visitors then a Dutch site. Therefore, I moved to Brinkster and created an English website, called Sockbox. Making the site in English was one of the best decision in my life, because it is a great practice and I seriously benefit from it now!
But anyway, Brinkster started to put huge banners on my site, so I posted a blog that I was looking for a host. There I got a comment from Emily, who offered to host me at Ticklez.net. I accepted, so in 2003 Sockbox was a hosted site. In February 2004, I moved with her to PixelFX and there she hosted all my excesses (a clique, several fanlistings and school projects). She is seriously the best host someone could ever wish for and I’ll never forget her! She made it possible that Sockbox stayed online for such a long time.
But in April 2008 I wanted, just like every other self-respecting -cough- webdesigner, a domain for myself. I also didn’t like the name Sockbox anymore (I thought of that name when I was 12!), so wanted to change everything completely. After searching for a good and cheap host for a while, I found Antagonist. I registered and within 5 minutes, Preluded was born. My first own domain in 8 years of my internet history!
As a homage to Sockbox (I still can’t say goodbye to the name completely), it is now an icon archive.
